We know hotel restaurants aren’t always everyone’s first choice as a dinner destination, but the Greenhouse is different. We are proud to have created a unique dining experience that offers the best of Cumbrian cuisine in a contemporary environment.

Our layout is flexible and can accommodate intimate dinners for two or larger groups looking for a sociable space to gather. We have an open kitchen and views over our gardens and on to Kendal Castle, arguably the best views Kendal has to offer.

Breakfast:

Monday to Saturday – 7am – 10.00am

Sunday – 8am – 11.00am

Food available Monday to Sunday from:

12pm – 9.30pm

Greenhouse Bar & Lounge

Relax and enjoy. Put your feet up by the fireside, have a gossip by the bar or tuck yourself away to dine with friends. Eat and drink what you want, wherever you want it.

Individual, stylish and comfortable, the bar and lounge at Castle Green will set the scene for the rest of your stay with us. Whether you fancy a creative cocktail or a custom-blended coffee, just make yourself at home and we’ll bring it right over.

You can choose to dine wherever you are most comfortable: in the lounge, bar or move into the Greenhouse Restaurant if you prefer.

Alexander’s is a ‘regular’ for many locals and a pleasant surprise for guests at the hotel who want to sample the best of Cumbrian breweries and enjoy a hearty meal.

Once the old stable block, Alexander’s is named after the family who founded the hotel. For those who like a trip down memory lane whilst enjoying the perfect pint, the walls display a selection of images that document the hotel’s history as a private house back to 1935.

We offer all sorts of local draught beers; seasonal meals and our friendly staff create a relaxed, informal environment for you to enjoy at any time of the day.
