National Museum Cardiff

From contemporary art to dinosaurs, from Monet to Mammoth. National Museum Cardiff has five hundred years of magnificent paintings, drawings, sculptures, silver, and ceramics from across the world, including one of Europe’s best collections of Impressionist art. Entry to the museum is absolutely free so whether you are looking to wander around the galleries, grab a coffee or browse the gift shop, there is something to suit all the family. Cardiff Castle

Castle Street, Cardiff, CF10 3RB

In the castle grounds you will find a motte and relics of a Norman keep built in 1091. You will be able to enjoy a beautiful view of Cardiff by climbing to the top of the tower. The Victorian manor house is the main building of the castle. There are activities throughout the year, such as Easter Trails, Ghost Tours and Victorian Weekends. Architect William Burges actually transformed some of these rooms into apartments. There is also a library where you can look at the old books.

Principality Stadium (Formerly Millennium Stadium)

The Millennium Stadium, currently known for sponsorship purposes as the Principality Stadium, is the national stadium of Wales. It is the home of Welsh Rugby and hosts the national rugby union team and also stages games of the Wales national football team. The stadium was initially built to host the 1999 Rugby World Cup, it now hosts many other large-scale events, the Super Special Stage of Wales Rally Great Britain, the Speedway Grand Prix of Great Britain and various music concerts.

Wales Millennium Centre

Bute Place, Cardiff, CF10 5AL

Opened in 2004 and has already established its reputation as one of the world`s iconic arts and cultural destinations. Visitors can enjoy blockbuster West End musicals, opera, ballet and contemporary dance, hip hop and stand-up comedy, art exhibitions, workshops, training days, free daily foyer performances, guided tours, bars and restaurants. The centre also offers regular behind-the-scenes backstage tours, as well as more specialist technical and architectural tours.

Cardiff International White Water (CIWW)

Watkiss Way, Cardiff, CF11 0SY

This is an exhilarating, on-demand adventure facility. A centre of excellence for training. With up to six people in a raft, white water rafting is one of the most sociable activities available. Suitable for complete beginners and seasoned white water enthusiasts. There is also an indoor wave, which is a simulated surf machine which provides the thrill of bodyboarding all year around. Other activities include Air Trail, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, hot dogging and more.

St Fagans National History Museum

Michaelston Road, St Fagans, Cardiff, CF5 6XB

One of world’s leading open–air museums. It stands in the grounds of the magnificent St Fagans Castle, a late 16th-century manor house. During the last 50 years, over 50 original buildings from different locations in Wales and from different historical periods have been re-built in the 100-acre parkland. Each building is frozen in time and opens a door into Welsh history offering a fascinating glimpse into the past. Visitors gain an insight into the rich heritage and culture of Wales.
